Cobble, a dating decision-making app, receives $3 million in seed funding
Recently, Cobble, an App that helps couples make better decisions together when it comes to deciding on dating activities, received a seed round of funding of 3 million US dollars.
Cobble is a dating decision-making app that was only launched in March 2020. It is very user friendly. When both parties swipe to the right on a location or an event at the same time, there is a match. Both parties do not need to worry about what to do on the upcoming dating night.
Cobble founder Jordan Scott said in an interview with Forbes that many dating apps have been launched on the market in the past ten years, but few provides “'after sales” services for these couples, and it is often difficult for couple to choose what activities they want to do or where they should go on a date night. Especially in an earlier stage of a romantic relationship, people tend to be a bit shy to express what they really want, which can easily result in less optimal dating experience and in turn affect the subsequent development of the relationship. The company has identified the market gaps and understands precise user needs. The test launch of Cobble in New York received quite a positive feedback. It has now expanded its services to Chicago, San Francisco and London.
Scott also said that with the expansion into more new cities, more employees will be deployed in the local market to conduct field studies and experiments to ensure beyond-satisfactory services for app users. She also said: "With the end of the COVID epidemic, people will have more travel and spending needs, and it may lead to a peak of retaliatory travel. Then Cobble will play a more important role."
In fact, there is not only Cobble doing "Dating activities" business. According to the author, Japanese dating apps Tapple, Bumble, and LGBTQ dating community Scruff all have functions of dating plans; however, most apps include dating activities service as an add-on function to increase user activity and loyalty. Few apps do it on the full-scale basis. In addition, Cobble uses a "matching model" which makes dating activities more interesting now.
